SkyTribe privacy policy
What SkyTribe stores, who sees what, and what we do not do. If anything here is unclear, email hello@skytribe.org.
What SkyTribe stores
Your account: an email address and a password, held by our sign-in provider. We never see your Garmin password. Garmin linking happens on Garmin's own sign-in page.
Your flights: the GPS track from the flights you link or share in, motion-sensor data recorded during a Skills session, and the numbers we work out from them, such as distance, duration, altitude and scores. Imported files (.fit, .gpx, .igc) are stored so we can process them.
Your media: photos and short video clips you attach to a flight.
Your profile: display name, photo, bio, country, home base, pilot rating and your gear, if you choose to add them. Name, photo, bio and home base are public when filled in.
Who sees what
Each flight is Public, Close friends or Private. You set a default and can change it on any single flight. You can hide the first and last five minutes of a flight from other pilots.
Public flights contribute, without your name, to the community heatmap in Explore. Private flights appear nowhere but your own account.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not share your flights with anyone beyond the visibility you chose.
Third parties
Terrain and satellite imagery for replays come from mapping providers, and map tiles in Explore come from a mapping service. Garmin flights arrive through a linking service that Garmin syncs to. These providers receive only what is needed to render a map or fetch a flight.
